“Coast to Coast” features youth orchestras represented both sides of the country – the Young People’s Symphony Orchestra (California) and the NEC Youth Symphony (Massachusetts). Join us for an evening of wonderful music performed by some of the finest youth musicians in the country.

The Young People’s Symphony Orchestra is an auditioned youth symphony based in Berkeley, CA. They have toured to Australia, China and central Europe and played at such venues as Sydney Opera House, Smetana Hall in Prague, and the Musikverein in Vienna.

The NEC Youth Symphony is composed of advanced young musicians, most between the ages of 13 and 18. As one of NEC's senior Preparatory School ensembles, the Youth Symphony has performed in NEC's Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall, and the Boston Opera House in a collaboration with the Boston Ballet School.
Additionally, this orchestra tours internationally every two years. In the summer of 2013, the Orchestra completed a 9-day tour of Costa Rica.
