Meet Obie Award-winning theater artist Taylor Mac for a peek behind the scenes of “The Lily’s Revenge,” his epic production combining dance, film, theater, and music into five unique acts that shatter cultural expectations and social norms, presented by the American Repertory Theater. Mac will provide an overview of the show’s concept with visuals showing costume and scenic designs, and answer questions. Presented by Learning From Performers and A.R.T.
Taylor Mac’s plays include “The Walk Across America For Mother Earth,” “The Young Ladies Of,” “The Be(A)st of Taylor Mac,” “Red Tide Blooming,” “Dilating (an evening of one-acts),” “Blue Grotto,” and “The Hot Month.” He has performed his own work and that of others at The Sydney Opera House, The San Francisco MOMA and Opera House, New York’s Public Theater, Stockholm’s Sodra Teatern, The Spoleto Festival, The Bumbershoot Festival, The Time Based Arts Festival, Dublin’s Project Arts Center, London’s Soho Theater, and other theaters, museums, music halls, cabarets, and festivals around the globe. TimeOut New York has called him, “One of the most exciting theater artists of our time” and he is the recipient of a 2010 Obie Award, numerous grants and fellowships. The A.R.T. production of “The Lily’s Revenge” is at Oberon, October 12-28.
